Railway Mania - Rebuilt!

Hey everyone, thought it was time I gave you an update on where I'm at with the crashes/save. I couldn't find a solution to the problem, despite the kind suggestions from various people on the steam forums. The issue is undoubtedly mod related; one of the files must have changed which resulted in some sort of irreparable error. The save was loading fine, but within a few date ticks, the game was crashing straight to desktop without any warning. I activated plan B last Friday. This involved starting a new game in 1900, where I reconstructed all of the railways seen in the previous videos, plus all the others I worked on off-camera. As it stands right now, just about the entire network is built, including most of the freight lines. Every location on the map is connected. I will begin the detailing today. Whilst this has been an inconvenience, it has had it's benefits. First off, I'm glad this happened at the end of the "Railway Mania" series. Had it happen

Small spanner in the works (or on the track?)

Alright, not the sort of news I wanted to be sharing with you all, but definitely the right thing for me to warn you in case you're wondering what's going on. My play through of Transport Fever using my England & Wales 7K map has hit a snag. I have been getting repeated crashes to desktop, despite  the removal of various mods, checking the internet for solutions, etc - all the obvious stuff. I am still optimistic I can get things going again, but I have had to turn to the steam support forum to see if someone smarter than I can work it out. Either that, or the solution lands in my lap and I think of something. So, this does mean that there won't be any episode 20 of Railway Mania on Friday. This problem occurred mid-production and there is no way I can finish it in time now. I had plans to stream the finale episode this coming Tuesday - this too, is now an uncertain date until I know the extent of the problem. Apologies for the bad news, but as ever I will keep

Wales & Surrounding Areas map released!

Image
Earlier today I was very pleased to release my latest map; Wales & Surrounding Areas on the Steam Workshop, for Transport Fever. As mentioned in my previous post, this map is the same size as my England & Wales map , but this new map is an enhanced view of Wales and it's immediate surroundings. There are over 100 towns, all of which are/were destinations for various railways. There is a second version of the map available , and this one includes hand-placed industry, with real-life references used as a placing guide. I published a short video introducing the map too. Check it out if you missed it. I have every intention to continue publishing maps for Transport Fever. Certainly, my serialised videos will continue to select and showcase maps that I have created. My efforts for the time being will continue to be enhanced regional maps, based on the England & Wales map. The first releases have covered very large geographic areas and there will be more of th

Railway Mania #17 and My next Transport Fever Map release

Image
There is more railway mania to be had on my YouTube channel - check it out! Increased scale has allowed additional locations to be added alongside those found in my England & Wales map. As I mentioned before, the England & Wales megalomaniac map was just the beginning. The image used for the map is really high quality and this has led to me planning some enhanced regional maps for Transport Fever. Locations around the River Severn I fell in love with Wales whilst creating its railway in earlier episodes of Railway Mania, so the new map is to be; "Wales & Surrounding Areas". It is just about finished. It sports 100 towns, a massively enhanced representation of Wales and a number of English towns including major locations such as Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol and Birmingham. Rivers make a bigger appearance this time, owing to the increased scale. Transport Fever doesn't deal well with Rivers in mountainous terrain though, so I have had t

Railway Mania Episode 16

I t's here, you can now watch the 16th part of my Transport Fever game, running my very own England and Wales map. In this installment, we work on various lines of the London Chatham and Dover Railway. As explained in the video, I'm seeking your suggestions for two things... 1. I have set a subscriber milestone of 500 subs. If this is achieved, I am willing to do something special. Leave a comment in the video or here to say what you would like me to do! 2. The second series of this game and map will be starting pretty soon. Whilst I have my own ideas for projects to work on, I want to do a few episodes inspired by your wishes and suggestions. If you have any thoughts, drop me a comment on the video or right here on this post. With about 4 episodes left for this series, maybe more, but it's not much, anyway, I have drawn up a list of lines and connections that still need to be made, including an excellent suggestion for an oil/fuel network that I want to complete. I

Episode 15 Live Stream now available to view!

After some much needed trimming, the live episode 15 can now be watched on my channel. Episode 16 is currently in the works. Thursday is looking doubtful - I've had a fair bit on this week and I am shaking up the production slightly, now that I feel I am getting somewhat more competent at this video lark. It'll arrive in good time, this week, for certain. In the meantime, enjoy the shenanigans of the live episode!

Crashes, Maroons and Strippers!

First off, a big thank you to everyone who tuned in to the Live Stream earlier this evening. It was lively and also unpredictable, with an issue with one of the station mods causing two crashes, but we persevered and got something productive done. The stream episode will remain unlisted on the channel until I have edited it down, as I'd rather  have the downtime cut from the video! It shouldn't take too long, so long as YouTube doesn't make a fuss. A few things came up, one of note was a channel subscriber milestone. I don't usually chase after numbers, but this is something it seems everyone, including myself, can get behind. The milestone is 500 subs and I have offered to do something special (and reasonable!) and most requested, upon reaching this number. Some ideas already floated have been getting a camera and a day trip to a heritage railway. I'm all ears for others. I will try and construct some kind of poll soon. I'm sure there's more, but now I&
